Our perfect day started out with our first use of our new kayaks!! It was beautiful when we woke up on Saturday morning and we decided it was time to break in the kayaks. But first we needed to finish putting the kayak rack on the car. We had started last weekend, but didn't quite get it finished. And we had never tried to attach the kayaks to the rack, so we knew it might take a little while to get the hang of it.
It ended up being a long, adventurous morning with the rack, but by 10am we were finally ready to go and we now know how to attach the kayaks with relative ease and speed. And I'm sure we'll get faster as the summer progresses. Here is our car sporting the lovely kayaks and rack:
We've been looking forward to kayaking at Lougee Pond ever since Bob first took me there last spring, so it was wonderful to finally get out there and kayak!
It was absolutely beautiful at Lougee and we loved being out on the water.
We kayaked all around the pond and found these turtles sunning themselves on a log in the cove. They weren't super impressed to see us, but this one stuck around long enough for me to take some pictures.
We're looking forward to a long, wonderful summer of kayaking at Lougee Pond. We love our kayaks and are so happy that we got them. Bring on the summer!!
