Rainy Day Road Trip

We love to go on road trips and decided we would take one today, despite the rain. We usually go north or to the coast, but I wanted to take Bob to Sunapee and show him where I used to live.

We drove around the lake and found this beautiful Episcopal church. I love it!! Its obviously only open in the summer, hence the boarded up windows, but I bet there is beautiful stained glass under those boards.

We drove across Route 11 and ended up in Potter Place. I love the old train station in Potter Place. Donald Hall writes about taking the train from North Station to Potter Place, where his grandfather would pick him up in the old horse and buggy and drive him the couple of miles to his grandparents farm in Danbury, where Donald Hall now lives.

It was very rainy, but we still had a great road trip. And we found some new places we want to go back to when it is sunny. Stay tuned for more road trips throughout the summer!
